Plasser & Theurer's centre of machine development is located in the parent factory in Linz. On the basis of long years of experience of the designers and the close contacts with customers, new ideas become operable machines.

In the design department the machines are developed and adapted to the specific requirements of the customer using up-to-date CAD systems. Regular contact with the users, the railway administrations at home and abroad, and with technical universities and research institutes makes up an important part of this work. From the start it has been the aim of Plasser & Theurer to react quickly to the customer's wishes and to obtain in the shortest possible time from the project stage an operational machine which fully complies with the requirements.

Our long experience in the construction of standard railway vehicles stands in good stead when short development times are needed or, for example, when amended regulations call for fast changes in the machine design whilst retaining the full functionality.
