Training

Extensive training for full utilisation of the machines

Trained staff contribute greatly towards the productivity of the machine. The thorough Plasser & Theurer training offers an excellent preparation for efficient operation of the machines.

High capacity track maintenance machines are equipped with up-to-date electronic, hydraulic and mechanical components as well as complex measuring and controlling systems. In view of this, the training of the operating and servicing staff gains even greater significance for successful and cost-efficient operation of the machines.

The Plasser & Theurer Service and Training Center in Linz is an important link between manufacturing and development on the one side and the conditions encountered in practical operation. The programme of lectures covers not only technical subjects, but also general introductions relating to cost-efficient and technologically correct operation of the various track machines. Courses for machine operators, service technicians, foremen, etc., are held not only in Linz but also in the respective country of operation. Modern training aids in the various languages complete the practical training in operation, servicing and repair work.

Simulator training is practical training

Numerous simulators for machine controls, process guiding systems and also for the ALC automatic guiding computer are available in the training center in Linz and some also in partner firms around the world (CMS, SCB, ALC, P600, PLC simulators and DAR measuring recorders). Each of the simulators is developed parallel to the current machine models so that user-orientated training is guaranteed.

Exchange of experience through specialist seminars

To report on the latest technologies and methods for the economical deployment of track machines, seminars are held regularly by Plasser & Theurer in many parts of the world. These take place with the assistance of specialists from the railways, from universities and research institutes and aim to provide information for railway personnel from management to machine operators.
